I’m originally from Chiclana de la Frontera, a small village in South of Spain, a place of pure Flamenco tradition, where Flamenco isn’t only a style of music, it’s a whole culture and a way of living. Andalusia, South of Spain, the place where I was raised, is the land where all my musical roots were forged.
I was greatly influenced by my mother singing Flamenco at home, accompanying her on guitar in our flamenco patio, with the smell of the jasmine tree. Also, the Peña Flamenca, a building next door to my home, where Flamenco was performed day and night. I have been surrounded by Flamenco since I was born, and so inevitably, Flamenco became the passion of my life.
‘Flamenco is not only my passion, it’s the air I’ve breathed everyday since I was born’
I started playing flamenco guitar at the age of 10. When I was 18, I started my Flamenco professional performing career on stages all over Andalusia (South Spain) as a soloist and accompanying renowned Flamenco singers, flamenco dancers, and participated in the major Flamenco festivals.
‘When I play Flamenco I don’t only play with my fingers, but with my heart’
Nowadays, my passion and vocation is the showcase, integration and cross-cultural evolution of traditional Flamenco music in Ireland.
I have lived in Ireland since 2005, where I earn my living as a musician.
